ABOUT US

Who we are: An incorporated, volunteer-run community association representing residents, landholders, businesses and road users of the 450,000 hectare land mass that has been impacted by the Scabbing Flat Bridge.

What we do: We have a focused campaign that the NSW Govt fund the construction of a safe, modern crossing at Scabbing Flat over the Macquarie River near Geurie.

We want to keep the community informed about works and closures, and give local people a united voice with Dubbo Regional Council, Transport for NSW and our state and federal representatives.

Why it matters: Scabbing Flat Bridge is more than a road.

It's how our kids get to school.

It is how farmer’s produce gets to market.

It is how our transport and trucking industries efficiently bring supplies and inputs from south to north, east to west.

The bridge is how our community stays connected.

An area of 450,000 hectares of land relies on this bridge.

The cost of food is directly linked to efficient transport. We cannot have modern trucks use the bridge - which means the truck drivers charge more. In the end, the cost of food is more expensive than it should be.
